Miko the Kitty: "I invite you to discover the famous Uruguayan painter, JuanManuel Blanes (1830-1901). He is considered the most successful painter to beautifully reproduce historical scenes of the country. One of his best-known works is "Oath of the Thirty-Three Easterners (1878)" (in Spanish: El juramento de los Treinta y Tres), an oil on canvas (5,64m x 3,11m). The painting leads this gallery of photos. You can read Juan Manuel Blanes' biography by clicking on the following link: http://tinyurl.com/obag72r"

Raúl Hurtado: "Tip: A great way to promote any aspect of your country's culture is by uploading photos and commenting them in this fashion. You can then publish the photos inside your country's Mundusgroup so that anyone can see them. Nice work Miko promoting Uruguayan painter Juan Manuel Blanes :)"

Miko the Kitty: Happy May 18 holiday for Uruguayans around the world during the "Battle of las Piedras" commemorative date - Feliz día de la Batalla de las Piedras a todos nuestros amigos Uruguayos. The following is a music video (in Spanish) that tells the story of the Battle of las Piedras. Even if you don't understand Spanish, it's going to be a different musical experience since the music carries the soul of what it means to be Uruguayan. http://tinyurl.com/pu6xb9r
